Professor Dalia Nassar has been interested in neglected thinkers since she was an undergraduate student in philosophy, when she asked her professors about women in the history of philosophy. Their answer was a clear No. At first she took that answer for granted. But then she wondered: if women are now interested in big philosophical questions, isn’t it absurd to think that there was a time when they weren’t?

Years later, she began doing some research, and  what she found was shocking: not only were there women philosophers across the history of western philosophy, but there were dozens of them, writing in different genres, on various topics, and tackling some of the hardest questions of their time.

Dalia’s publications include two books on neglected figures in German philosophy, and three edited volumes - two of which are on women philosophers in the nineteenth century. She is currently writing a book on beauty and its place in our lives.
